Description
2017 Santa Cruz Bicycles Bronson 2.0 Carbon CC Frame
Not content resting on its all-mountain notoriety, the 2017 Santa Cruz Bronson 2.0 Carbon CC Frame benefits from continuous design updates for charging precipitously steep trails and no-fall lines. The changes for 2017 are limited to new colorways and build kits, but the latest Bronson still benefits from the recently revised 2.0 geometry.
The Bronson 2.0 Implements design cues from the Nomad including a slack, 66-degree head tube angle, lower bottom bracket, and longer reach for improved stability at speed and low-slung, short-stem handling. Realizing this, it’s no surprise that the Bronson 2.0 excels at grueling enduro races where uphill efficiency and downhill comfort are equally important. Carried over from 2016, the 148mm Boost thru-axle significantly stiffens the rear wheel for precise tracking across rough terrain.
Featuring Santa Cruz’s premium CC-level carbon, the Bronson 2.0 Carbon CC Frame saves approximately 280 grams from base C-level carbon for rocket-like acceleration out of corners and maximum efficiency when you’re climbing for thousands of vertical feet. It’s just as strong and stiff as the heavier C-level carbon, offering peace of mind for riders thrashing their bike on a regular basis. 150mm of VPP3 suspension soaks up the biggest, baddest hits without wallowing under acceleration on quick uphill bursts or out-of-saddle sprints, and the 74-degree seat tube angle places you in an optimal position for cranking away on long uphills and smooth sections.
One of the biggest updates to the latest-generation Bronson 2.0, the revised VPP suspension features a stiffer box-section upper link and cleanly tucked away lower link that helps prevent damage from rock strikes. This revised suspension platform benefits from increased small-bump compliance for better traction across root-latticed or rock-laden trails. Mid-stroke progressiveness is also enhanced, preventing you from blowing through excess travel. Included with this frame is a Rock Shox Monarch Plus RT3 shock for supple traction and rapid recovery between successive hits when you’re plunging into formidable descents.
