Description
2017 GT Force Alloy Expert Complete Mountain Bike
Our childhood memory slideshow is permeated with GT’s branding as we navigated the neighborhood in search of the next rockin’ curb jump or parkside halfpipe. Now that we’ve gotten a little taller and settled into the adult world, the 2017 GT Force Alloy Expert Complete Mountain Bike brings back the joy in a modernized package built to handle our favorite all-mountain trails. Aluminum construction balances weight, durability, and price tag while 6-inches of responsive Angle Optimizes Suspension works in tandem with a 160mm travel fork to soften the bumps for a confident ride.
The Force’s Angle Optimized Suspension (AOS) looks decidedly different than most other suspension systems, with the crankset attached to the mobile rear triangle rather than the stationary front triangle. GT claims that pairing this design with its Pathlink, which cradles the crankset and acts as a pivot on the short side of the rear triangle, minimizes power-sapping chain extension for a more responsive pedal feel. AOS’s high mount pivot also helps boost the suspension’s shock absorbing capabilities for improved big-hit compliance. In a nutshell, AOS isolates rear axle travel from pedaling input, which means the Force can charge over singletrack and jump off the line without any disheartening pedal bob.
